據(jù)路透社報(bào)道，中國正對(duì)該高鐵項(xiàng)目進(jìn)行可行性研究，并要求印度在部分路段開始試點(diǎn)項(xiàng)目。新德里至金奈的高鐵項(xiàng)目將耗資360億美元。“雙方還同意加快實(shí)行從金奈到本加盧魯?shù)母咚勹F路走廊計(jì)劃。由于莫迪希望更新每天有2500萬人使用的搖搖欲墜的印度鐵路系統(tǒng)，中國或?qū)⒌玫綑C(jī)會(huì)。”
法新社的報(bào)道則稱，印度總理納蘭德拉·莫迪下周將出訪中國，旨在平衡與中國的貿(mào)易逆差。報(bào)道指出，中國是印度最大的貿(mào)易伙伴，兩國雙向貿(mào)易總額接近700億美元(約合人民幣4343.6億元)。但據(jù)印度統(tǒng)計(jì)數(shù)據(jù)，印度與中國的貿(mào)易逆差已經(jīng)從2001~2002年度的10億美元(約合人民幣62.1億元)飆升至超過400億美元(約合人民幣2482.0億元)。
報(bào)道援引專家觀點(diǎn)稱，莫迪必須通過尋求更多的中國市場(chǎng)，今年?duì)幦?shí)現(xiàn)1000億美元的雙邊貿(mào)易目標(biāo)，以消除貿(mào)易逆差。

The report quoted the expert opinion that Modi must achieve the bilateral trade target towards $100 billion through seeking more Chinese market this year, thus eliminating the trade deficit.
Le Yucheng, Chinese ambassador to India, also said that the two countries would sign an cooperation agreement worth $10 billion.
